This carving shows the victorious Rameses (driving the chariot on the left) returning home with a captured army of slaves. Although it is not very distinct in this photo, the slaves (centre) have non-Arab faces whereas his waiting countrymen (right) have clearly Arab features. Of particular note is the depiction of the Suez canal to the right of centre, running vertically between two vertical lines of patterning, rather like the modern OS map symbol for an embankment or cutting. The canal is not as recent a creation as I had thought.
