2013: In Stockholm

The open-air museum of Swedish life

The open-air museum houses dozens of houses, shops, and industrial buildings, many of which have been reassembled on-site after being dismantled at their original location. Most of them are populated by actors who will talk about their history or give demonstrations of their original uses, and there are also many gardens associated with them as well as a large formal garden. Altogether it is a fantastic place which would take at least 2 days to visit properly..
